This machine can be used with either a hand torch or a machine torch. When using a machine torch, the internal gas solenoid with remain open. On the machine torch is another gas solenoid. The solenoid on the torch is used to regulate the flow of gas. If you are using a hand torch, the solenoid in the machine will not remain open. But will open and close when the hand torch is being used. This is all done automatically and nothing needs to be changed. The machine will determine which torch is being used.
